Why Improve Technique?
Climb more efficiently. Climbing efficiently instead of muscling through allows us to move through routes in the most efficient way, saving energy for the really hard parts, or allowing us to move through hard moves using less strength overall.
Increase the number of moves in our movement ‘toolbox’. This gives us more options to tackle problems on the wall and expands our movement literacy/movement library.
Decrease injury risk. Moving in a certain way can increase or decrease your injury risk (ie. feet slipping off can suddenly shock load a shoulder or finger).
How is it done?
Deliberate practice with some guided self reflection.
